A short film: “Moving Through Iran”

The following is a short clip, filmed by Ali Karjoo-Ravary and edited by Navjot Kanda

Filmed in 2016 in Tehran, Isfahan, Kerman, Mashhad, and Qazvin, “Moving through Iran” captures movement in urban, rural, residential, commercial, historic and modern neighborhoods of Iran. 

Ali Karjoo-Ravary is a PhD Candidate in Religious Studies at the University of Pennsylvania. While his dissertation focuses on Sufism and monarchy in the late medieval period, his broader interest in the social worlds of Sufism stretches into the present. Follow him @akarjooravary.

Navjot Kanda is a photographer, filmmaker, and student based in Central California. He is currently working on a documentary on Punjabi immigrants to northern California during the twentieth century. Follow him @kandaproductions.
